We're gonna rock this town...

coversproject.com is a database of songs that were played by musicians other than the original. If your favorite band has a song that someone else recorded, you can enter it. You can see how that song or that band links to other songs/bands, thus creating a chain not unlike the fabled Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.

Remember the rumors about a certain rock band not allowing brown M&M's backstage? Read what ridiculous things your favorite group has in their tour contracts (and if you happen to be seeing Sammy Hagar, note that "disposable cameras are expectable" at his shows, which is pretty cool).

VD Records is a very small indie record label that I have written and produced and recorded for. Here is one of my songs that got a small amount of radio airplay (it's short so it won't be a big download).

Not that I would expect anyone to care about this so feel free to skip to the next item unless you're really bored: I think it was 1998 when I got a call from my old friends Chris and Ralph, who needed a last minute fill-in for their band. I only had a few days to rehearse with them before the gig and here is audio of three of the songs that we did at that show: Bus, Lover, and River. These songs stand as an example of something that seemed cool at the time, but kinda sucks now. LOL. Hey, we had fun...so that's all that really counts.

Shifting gears to something good: one of Boston's best radio Traffic Reporters moonlights as one of Cape Cod's biggest supporters of live music and stuff. Subversive Green Rhino is Cape Cod's place for cool people. Subversive Green Records is the indie Cape Cod music label (puts my own little label to shame). :-(

The "Big Mattress" was the name of a morning radio show that I used to work on at WBCN in Boston. The "Mattress" is not on the air live anymore but

the website is full of some of the greatest moments in Boston radio history (even if I do say so myself). I did a couple of other things while I was at WBCN, one of the most popular was when I played the part of "Donald from Dedham".

Opie and Anthony are the infamous radio guys who got fired for saying the Mayor of Boston was dead and they also got into trouble over something involving sex in a church. But anyway, three of the coolest comedians often heard on the O&A show are Jim Norton, Mario Cantone, and Jay Mohr, whom you have probably seen in many TV shows and movies.

I like lots of music. A few of my favorite rock groups include Aerosmith, Metallica, and Sammy Hagar before, during, and after Van Halen. There are so many others too, but we'd be here all day if I listed them all. But while we're on the subject of Aerosmith, there are a couple of fan sites that are really extra good: rockthisway.de is the best place for Aero-news and theaerohaven.com has some great live concert pics (including a bunch that I've taken).
